BIO
Keesha Mishawn is one of those people. She is a singer, songwriter, woman who has the ability to reach into the depths of her experiences and create the lyrics, melodies, and sounds that resonate deep within. She is a beautifully humble and unassuming vocalist with the range to sing Jazz, R&B, Gospel, Alternative, Dance, Rock and the genres still in the making. She is dynamic. There are some who learn to sing and there are others, like Keesha Mishawn who are born to sing. Armed with her voice as an instrument- she uses her artistry to inspire young people as a community organizer.
Keesha Mishawn, at this early stage in her career- has begun to set the stage for quality music and longevity . She has worked and honed her skills at the prestigious Columbia University Baccalaureate. She has graced the stage at Fordham University, University of Maryland, and New York University celebrations.
She has rocked audiences at Loft 676, South Street Sea Port, the Sullivan Room at Death by Audio, Union Pool, the Bubble Lounge, Alphabet Lounge, and Solomon’s Porch. Crowds at the National Black Theatre of Harlem, Nike Black History Month Celebration and the NY Knicks Poetry Slam at Madison Square Garden have cheered her on.
Her vocal depth can be found on wax with DJ Lil Louis on “Accept Me”- Two Sides to Every Story Album. She has also worked with fellow songwriter Meleni Smith.
Keesha Mishawn is reaching for the stars and letting her light shine. Her hope is to touch as many people along the way as she puts her dream into action.
